The assumption we’re operating under (it may not happen, either: but we assume worst-case scenarios because few other people do) is that the British and wider European security spaces — except, perhaps, the Nordics and wider Baltics — will eventually leave ordinary citizens with few of the tools which currently serve to shield us from extreme criminality.

Governments clearly feel they need to access everything we do. Their solution, at the moment, is to leave the citizen open and naked to their control. But this also means naked to the extreme criminality of a cybercrime which is now a cyberwarfare on all society’s stakeholders.

Almost certainly, these governments will prevent us from continuing to use an encryption of any real utility against extreme digital criminality, whilst VPN usage will be a trigger for the citizens who choose to use such tools to become the object of investigations by states that increasingly define our collective interests in terms of their own more limited ones.

Our solution? We want to take this one on the chin. We have chosen to build tools and software configurations that are both citizen- and government-friendly, legal, and compliant for the foreseeable. They are also cost-effective to use by everyone. And all under the umbrella of the Nordic concept of “total defence”.

Mission: “Total defence: Building armed forces that fight battles and societies that fight wars.” | Methodology: “Some people sell secrets. We sell secrecy.”
